Shingle to Standing Seam Metal Roof in Lake Wales, FL
Installed: 26-gauge standing seam panels and ridge

The problem
The shingles were 16 to 20 years old and had been patched so many times the roof was two colors. Light replacement shingles all over the darker original ones, some of them right up against the chimney. The homeowner asked us about metal.
What we did
Tear-off down to the deck, bad wood replaced as needed and loose boards re-nailed. High-temperature self-adhering ice and water shield over the entire deck. New drip edge, then 26-gauge standing seam panels with matching ridge on the hips and ridges. New ventilation, new roof components, flashing at the walls and chimney inspected and replaced where it needed it. Permit and inspections handled by us.

The result
Finished photos are from late August. One clean color across a hip roof that used to look like a quilt.
